Power or pressure washing is the growing application of high pressure water spray. A pressure washer uses high-pressure streams of water to remove paint, oil, grease, and dirt from a variety of surfaces, including brick, concrete, vinyl, metal, and asphalt etc. Power washing can blast away years of dirt and grime from gutters, house walls, and other hard surfaces around the house. Power washing or pressure washing is also used in commercial purposes and in industries.
Power washing can be done with cold and hot water. Normally cold water power washing is used in residential purposes. Hot water pressure washing is generally used in industrial purposes. Power washing should be done with greatest care because injuries involving pressure washing is increasing day by day. Precautions to be taken while pressure washing are:
- Wear safety glasses or goggles, shoes, and, with gas models, hearing protection.
- Start with the nozzle 2 feet away from the cleaning surface and move closer as needed.
- Set the nozzle to the widest spray angle that removes the stain. Point the nozzle away from legs, feet, people, and pets, as well as lights, air conditioners, and other electrical devices.
