Power Washers Rental

While working on heavier duty cleaning projects, you can rent a power washer, to save time and get the job done right. A unique combination of a motor and pump, power washers provide a powerful stream of water blasting away muck and grime from driveways, decks, fences, siding and even cars. These allow you to clean large areas and remove dogged dirt quickly and easily.
  • Firstly, find the appropriate pressure. The pressure washers are rated by water pressure, in pounds per square inch, or PSI. A garden hose delivers about 40 PSI, for this, you may use power washers ranging from 1400 to 4000 PSI. You can use a power washers rated 2000 PSI or less for smaller surfaces and general cleaning. For removing grease and grime, use a power washer between 2000 and 3000 PSI. Use a pressure washer rated 3000 PSI or more for stubborn stains and stripping paint.
  • Secondly, check the gauge the need for accessories. Most power washers come along with accessories, such as extension wands for reaching high places or water brooms for large flat areas. The surface or item, that is to be washed, determines the accessories you need. Each brand of power washer has its own unique accessories, but most manufacturers make accessories for common tasks.
  • Thirdly, calculate the size of the project. PSI, shows the amount of power a power washer can deliver, but gallons per minute, or GPM, determines the area, a power washer can clean and how quickly. A higher GPM means more surface area in less time.
  • Fourthly, check the several rental agencies. A few of them are Home Depot and Lowe's. They have local offices throughout the county. Online aggregators, such as RentalHQ.com, are also useful for identifying local rental companies according to ZIP code.
  • The fifth step is to get the rates and availability to identify a dealer with a power washer with an appropriate PSI and GPM for your project and compare costs. Never forget to ask which accessories are available for rental and if these require separate rental.
