The use of power washers involves certain risks and therefore proper safety measures should be followed while using them. The safety precautions not only will ensure the safety of the operator but also for others. Here are certain safety measures that you should follow while working with the power washers.
- While using the power washer, you should never point it at yourself or others.
- You should not attempt to push or move objects with spray from the washer.
- It is advised not to use the gasoline-powered washer in an enclosed space.
- Ensure that the circuit breaker is working as well as the outlet before using a pressure washer.
- Ensure that you plug properly grounded pressure washer into a properly grounded receptacle.
- In case you are using an extension cord, keep the pressure washer’s power cord connection out of any standing water, and use a heavy-duty extension cord with components rated for use in wet conditions.
- Remember to keep both the power cord and extension cord connections as far away as possible from the flow of the washer.
- Always wear rubber-soled shoes that provide some insulation when using the pressure washer.
- Do not remove the grounding from the pressure washer’s power cord plug or the extension cord.
- Follow the instructions mentioned in the owner’s manual carefully.
- Never allow children to operate a pressure washer and always keep them at a certain distance when the washer is in use.
