How to Take Care of Your Power Washer

There are two essential parts of the power washer that needs to be taken care of. The pressure washer pumps and the hoses, if you properly take care of them your power washer will have a long life and it will give years of uninterrupted services. Taking care of both the parts do not require much of your time but a little inspection will do the needful.

Pressure washer pump is the integral part of power washer because it puts power into the water to help clean the area. Ensure that enough oil is there in the pump for its smooth functioning. Lubricate it as directed and take special care during winters. Winterize the pump to keep them in working condition and use them whenever needed. Cover the pumps and avoid direct exposure to the cold weather. If still some problem persists then replacing the pressure washer pump is the intelligent choice.

The next is the pressure washer hose. Inspection of the hose should be done from time to time and if you detect abrasions, cut and damage occurred due to improper storage, chemical deterioration or extreme temperature exposure replacing it is the best choice. Wind hoses loosely and carefully to avoid kinks or flat spots. Don’t make the mistake of hanging hose on nails, pegs or hooks as they can leave cuts or flat spots instead use reel.

Hoses should not be stored in temperatures below freezing. In case if you leave it accidently let the cold hose warm up this will avoid possible cracking and bursting.
